Silica Coupling Agents

  • Bis(triethoxysilylpropyl)tetrasulfide. Ex. FINOSIL 69
  • Bis(triethoxysilylpropyl)disulfide. Ex. FINOSIL 266

Bifunctional, sulfur-containing organosilane for rubber applications in combination with white fillers containing silanol groups. Silane  reacts with silanol groups off-white fillers like precipitated silica  during mixing and with the polymer during vulcanization and  form stable  SI –O –SI covalent chemical bonds. Silinisation Temp and time is important for achieving silinisation efficiency. When scorch is a problem while using tetrasulphide , silane containing disulphide  can be used to improve scorch and sulphur dosage can be adjusted to compensate for  the lower sulphur content in disulphide

Imparts greater tensile strength, higher moduli, reduced compression set, increased abrasion resistance and optimized dynamic properties. Low Payne effect. Reduced rolling resistance in tire for fuel efficiency and increased traction.
